Andrew McKenzie has over a decade of experience working in community mental health. He has served as a professional counsellor in correctional, youth, young adult and family settings. For six years he supervised specialized clinical teams with focuses such as brief mental interventions, cognitive behaviour therapy for psychosis, family and individual therapy. For the past three years he supervised an interdisciplinary team that is nationally renowned for successfully rehabilitating individuals at risk of hate-based violence (see a recent publication here).

He has presented at conferences organized by Public Safety Canada, Children’s Mental Health Ontario, the Department of Homeland Security. An organizational leader, Andrew has supported community mental health agencies to meet the highest standards of service delivery in their accreditation process. He has also developed policies and corresponding training to prevent sexual misconduct in NGO’s and faith-based organizations.
